Sadly, I never got around to providing any expert analysis on the finale of Lost, and, well, I don’t plan on doing so now, either. It’s been a year since I saw the finale, and, to be honest, I only saw it once when it aired. I don’t really remember the details, but I know that I liked it; it was well-done and definitely up to Lost standards.

As a series, Lost excelled at storytelling, and did so in surprising and innovative ways. Yes, I’ve complained about the format of the final season, but what the show did was experimental and complex. There will never be another show on television like Lost, and it’s tough for any show to match its intelligence, its complexity, and its quality.

However, I’m currently watching another strong contender for best series ever. I’m not going to say what it is, because I’m only on Season 1 right now and I don’t want to start a discussion of a show that’s already over without having seen all of it for fear of spoilers being wittingly or unwittingly revealed. So, I’ll just have to report back in a couple months once I’ve watched it to completion.

See you all in another life, yeah?
